Vertical blinds (also known as “verticals” ) – consist of two basic elements: a rail with the control unit and vertically hanging stripes. These lamellas which are made of fabric or PCV have the weights on the bottom. They  are connected with the chain. The connection of the fabric stripes with the control rail is a very good solution which in a short time began to be used as a shade of fashionable large glazed surfaces in modern architecture. Huge glass windows and  walls enable a constant contact with the environment, but they don’t give a sense of intimacy and shade from the sun and the gazes from outside. A simple construction, the possibility of use of large dimensions (for example 5 m wide and 7 m. high), an easy and quick mounting are the reasons why vertical blinds are the most frequently used large-dimensional internal blinds.  However their main advantage is an aesthetic design and the possibility of external light quantity control. A wide range of fabrics, lamellas made of material and aluminium will satisfy even the most refined tastes.  The vertical blinds  are also used as a room divider or as the door.  Besides the possibility of lamella turning another sufficient advantage of the vertical blinds is  the possibility of mowing them to the right or to the left as also from and to the center. This makes them very functional  and their service easy.   

More and more often the vertical blinds are equipped with an electric control.  The rails can be mounted not only horizontally but also diagonally or diffracted (making a semicircle or a circle). The vertical blinds can be installed horizontally, diagonally or vertically. Their rails have simple shapes but they can be  bent to size.  A double rail (top and bottom) is also used. The blinds open and close (rotation of the stripes around their own axle to 180 degrees)  with the help of the chain (manual control) or electrically. The vertical blinds require a larger space than horizontal blinds. A large advantage of the vertical blinds is the possibility of lamella replacement without dismantling the control rail.
