Swisspacer

Main advantages
SWISSPACER warm space frame will certainly improve the window aesthetics due to its elegant matt surface and colour. At the same time SWISSPACER reduces the problem of thermal bridge on the pane edge. It means heating cost saving even by 10% for the whole window! Due to an even temperature on the whole window surface the problem of steam condensation on the pane edge has been eliminated.

Applications
SWISSPACER can be used in all kinds of carpentry goods. It is suitable for all kinds of application: windows, doors, front elevations, conservatories, roof windows. We recommend brown frames to wooden or PCV windows with wood grain veneer and grey frames to white windows.

Construction
SWISSPACER frame is made composite material with isolating characteristics which is increased with fiberglass, covered with a thin aluminium or stainless steel coat on one side. The coat provides better sticking of sealers which fix an insulated glass pane.

Characteristics
Standard windows have very good cold protection characteristics. Up till now the only weak point was the space frame made of metal (aluminium, standard steel) which conducted heat very well which was the reason why so called thermal bridge formed - „the hole” which the heat leaked through.

The following picture of insulated glass pane being heat conductor illustrates the effect of thermal bridge.

Insulated glass panes as heat conductors – the pane with SWISSPACER is situated on the right side – temperature distribution on the surface is definitely more favourable.
SWISSPACER Window characteristics surpass previous solutions with their characteristics:

  • Elimination of thermal bridge
SWISSPACER almost completely eliminates the effect of thermal bridge almost completely
  • Aesthetics
SWISSPACER is characterized by attractive mat aesthetics. There is a possibility of colour choice of the frame depending on section colour. There are no unfavourable metallic reflections.
  • Minimization of steam condensation problem.
The next advantage is almost complete elimination  of steam condensation taking place in some conditions on the pane edges due to raised and even temperature on the internal surface of the pane.

Resistance against high temperatures and  mechanical stress of SWIISPACER frame is at the same or higher level in comparison with aluminium frames.

Basic data

Heat loss value on the pane edge - so called line conduction of the pane edge - is characterized by coefficient Psi (Ψ).  This variable closely depends on the following values:

  • heat conduction of the material  which the frame is made of
  • depth of the pane seating in the frame
  • coefficient U of the section
  • Type of the section(material, homogeneity)
  • Coefficient Ug of the pane

The collation of this coefficient for different types of frames depending on the type of section which the insulated glass pane has been seated into is here below:

* For an insulated glass pane with following construction: 4/16/4 with low-emission coat (Ug=1,2 W/m2K).
This collation shows that the coefficient is by 53% better in the case of wooden or PCV frame and 63 % better in the case of aluminium in comparison with aluminium frame.
