Anti-noise protection
Climaplus Silence
Main advantages
Usage of laminated glass panes with special SILENCE acoustic coat with the best parameters in construction of these kits in the market. Protection from noise from external sources – urban, railway, air traffic, industry, schools etc. Providing silence in the place of stay is very sufficient for the life and work comfort of people. In conservatories and roof windows sound-absorbing glass absorbs the noise of falling raindrops. STADIP SILENCE glass is characterized by the same burglar proof characteristics and injury risk reduction as STADIP laminated glass panes with similar structure.
Applications
Sound-absorbing glass can be used in all kinds of carpentry items. Usage of a certain kind of glass pane depends on the character of noise which should be damped (i.e. different kind of glass is used to absorb the sounds of a slow moving train and different kind of glass is used to absorb the noise of quick urban traffic.
Structure
Glass configuration depends on required sound-absorbing parameters. Increased sound- absorbing level CLIMAPLUS SILENCE is achieved due to the use of laminated glass panes STADIP SILENCE with a special coat PVB SILENCE.
The following factors improving sound-absorbtion are also used:
- variety of glass thickness in the kit
- increased distance between glass panes
- usage of heavy gases, i.e. SF6 (although they are environmentally harmful as they enlarge the hole in the ozone layer, so the company GLASSSOLUTIONS doesn’t produce this type of glass)
Secure laminated glass which consists of two glass sections connected with one or several layers of coat with acoustic characteristics (PVB (A)) is placed on the internal side of the CLIMA PLUS SILENCE kit.
Characteristics
Due to resonance between the same thickness glass panes in the kit the attenuation of standard insulated glass 4/16/4 is worse than the attenuation of single glass which is 4 mm thick. So if the noise reduction function is important for you (i.e. you live in a noisy area) you should choose CLIMAPLUS SILENCE sound-absorbing glass which absorbs noise in the range from 29 dB to 52 dB.
Reduction of noise by a considerable number of decibels results in the change of a sense of noise coming from outside. Change of coefficient Rw doesn’t directly refer to hearer sense. In general the principle is following: noise reduction by 10 dB causes a sense of semi-reduced noise.
To achieve a certain sound absorption of the barrier such as window besides of glass sound absorption the following factors are also important:
- sound absorption of the window frame
- the manner of glass installation in the frame
- correct, hermetic installation of the window in the hole
- usage of the elements such as air vents which additionally reduce the sound absorption
It is recommended to adapt the glass type to the frame type and sealing. Glass with a high coefficient of acoustic insulation requires installation in the frames with very good parameters. The side of installation of insulated glass hasn’t any influence on acoustic parameters of the window.
The level of glass sound absorption is measured with the coefficient Rw (dB).
